About the Role
As a high-energy, enthusiastic Mac/iOS Developer with extensive experience in Swift, you will be eager to contribute, demonstrate exceptional technical skills, and bring a positive attitude to our collaborative environment in the heart of Chicago.
We’re looking for a MacOS Developer who thrives on building delightful, intuitive user experiences. This role is perfect for someone who isn’t afraid to take the reins, work ahead without a detailed blueprint, and shape the direction of our MacOS application in real time. You’ll be at the forefront of crafting an app that looks and feels exceptional, balancing user experience, performance, and flexibility in a fast-moving environment.
If you’re the type who enjoys charting your own path, adapting when requirements shift, and bringing creative energy into your work—you’ll feel right at home here.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain core features of our MacOS application with a strong emphasis on UI/UX polish and consistency.
- Prototype, experiment, and push forward without waiting for fully fleshed-out specs or designs.
- Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and other engineers to transform ideas into production-ready features.
- Pivot quickly as requirements evolve, keeping the product experience cohesive and high quality.
- Own the end-to-end development process: from writing clean, efficient code to debugging and optimizing performance.
- Stay up to date with the latest macOS frameworks, guidelines, and best practices, and bring them into our product.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in macOS/iOS development with a strong focus on Swift
- Proven experience developing MacOS applications in Swift/Objective-C, with a portfolio or shipped product to showcase.
- Experience with Xcode and Interface Builder
- Strong understanding of Apple frameworks: AppKit, Core Media, Core Audio, Core Animation, Core Graphics (Quartz)
- Strong understanding of Apple’s design principles and interface guidelines
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- High energy and eagerness to take on new challenges
- A strong eye for user experience, design detail, and platform-native feel.
- Comfort working independently, making decisions, and iterating quickly.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and adjust when priorities shift.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset—able to share ideas and receive feedback openly.
- Willingness to work fully on-site at our Chicago River North office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git) and strong Agile Scrum experience
- Experience with RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling (WebSockets a plus)
- Knowledge of Xcode Cloud workflows and testing
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices in MacOS applications.
- Familiarity with CI/CD for MacOS apps.
- Background working in small teams or startups where agility is key.

Why work with us
At SuperFile, we believe that happy, healthy employees are the foundation of a thriving workplace. That’s why we offer a benefits package that supports your health, well-being, and work-life balance. When you join our team, you’ll gain access to a range of valuable benefits, including health, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k)-retirement savings plan to help you achieve long-term financial security, as well as a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) policy that gives you the flexibility to take time when you need it most. Here’s what you can expect:
- Comprehensive Health Coverage: Stay healthy with access to robust health insurance plans, including medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your family. Our plans are designed to offer flexibility, affordability, and access to top healthcare providers.
- Affordable Premiums & Low Co-Pays: We work to keep costs low, so your paycheck goes further. Our plans feature affordable premiums and competitive co-pays, ensuring you get the care you need without financial stress.
- Coverage for Your Loved Ones: We offer health, dental, and vision plans for dependents and partners, giving you peace of mind that your entire family is cared for.
- 401K: We know how important it is to plan for the future, and we’re committed to helping you build financial security. Our 401(k) plan is designed to give you the tools and support you need to prepare for retirement. Here’s how we make it easy for you to save:
- Eligibility: Available to employees aged 21 with one year of service.
- Employee Contribution: 1%–98% of W-2 wages, with contributions always 100% vested.
- Employer Match: SuperFile matches 100% of the first 1% of compensation and 50% of the next 5% of compensation. Safe Harbor contributions will be 100% vested after two years of service.
- Accrued PTO: Your PTO is earned incrementally with each pay period, so you build up your time off throughout the year. This means you’ll have access to your earned PTO as soon as it accrues, allowing you to plan your time away in a way that works for you.
- Earn Up to 80 Hours of PTO Annually: Every year, you’ll have the opportunity to accrue up to a total of 80 hours (2 full weeks) of paid time off. Once you hit the 80-hour maximum, accruals pause until you use some of your available time. This ensures you have ample opportunity to use your time off.
- Start Earning From Day One: No waiting period required — you begin accruing PTO from your very first paycheck, so you can start planning your time off right away.
- Take Time When You Need It: Whether you need a vacation, personal day, sick day, mental health break, or a day to handle personal matters, our flexible PTO policy has you covered.
- Rollover Options: Roll over unused PTO into the following year, ensuring you don’t lose the time you’ve earned.
- Paid Holidays: In addition to your accrued PTO, enjoy 13 paid holidays throughout the year, giving you even more time to spend with family, friends, and loved ones.
